Description

Following the performance of ‘Toon Underground’ community parade on Northumberland Street, Saturday 19th April at 2pm, a selection of the giant puppets, costumes and masks will go on display for a week in the Great North Museum: Hancock. Come and have a closer look at the amazing work by over 100 local residents and artists following two weeks of free-to-access workshops in the run up to the parade. The parade theme explores the unseen and undiscovered places of Newcastle, its hidden nature and eco-system, and the ways in which we connect. ‘Toon Underground’ has been made possible through support and funding from the National Lottery Community Fund Awards For All and Nexus (Metro).

The exhibition will be viable during the Great North Museum: Hancock’s usual opening times.
